Its a hard enough job without people taking no heed
Easy instruction to follow
Why oh why -why indeed
Are the pavements still littered with bags!
Blue ones, black ones,
Green ones or pink
The wrong day, the wrong week
The wrong colour or contents
There has to be a system
A system to collect and disperse
So please local people take notice
Help the hardworking dustmen
By placing the right colour
With the correct content
On the day of the week that applies
Otherwise before too long
Our streets will be messy
Our roads unsafe to travel
Our kerbs unseen- knee deep
Help our dedicated rubbish force
To do the job they do
By following clear directions
Right colour Right day
Right content, week after week
Simple, straightforward cleanliness
Resulting in a litter free, a debris free
Village or town, street or path
Shining an example to whomever passes through!
