Carmarthenshire 50+ Forum has an Easter Jamboree planned next month.
The Forum’s annual event will be held on Thursday March 28 at the brand new, state of the art, Y Ffwrnes theatre in Llanelli’s ultra-modern East Gate development.
This follows the previous very successful event that took place in Parc y Scarlets which attracted a large number of people.
A number of theatrical performances are planned, including scenes from the highly successful ‘Calendar Girls’ production by Little Theatre, and a rousing performance from Cor Meibion.
The highly influential Commissioner for Older People Sarah Rochira will also give her thoughts on the issues facing older people in Wales, and a wide range of information stands will be available for people to browse.
A programme of entertainment is being developed.
Forum vice chair John Tonen said: “This year’s 50+ Forum annual event is going to be a celebration of the creative contribution of older people as performers and entertainers, as well as being an opportunity for people to tell us what they want out of the 50+ Forum as it continues to grow as an organisation.
“We look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces to the event.”
Carmarthenshire County Council Deputy Leader and 50+ strategy portfolio holder Cllr Tegwen Devichand said: “These 50+ events are a testament to the drive and energy of the 50+ Forum.
“They are also immensely beneficial for people who take part. The council welcomes the contribution the Forum makes and is pleased to be supporting this event.”
