Wonderwool Wales makes national award shortlist
Organisers of Wonderwool Wales are delighted that this year’s show has made the shortlist for the Best Knitting Show Event 2017/2018.
Alongside Edinburgh Yarn Festival; The Knitting & Stitching Show, London; Perth Yarn Festival and Yarndale, Yorkshire, the Welsh extravaganza of wool and natural fibres has been shortlisted for the British Knitting & Crochet Awards 2018.
“It’s fantastic to have been nominated for these prestigious national awards and now we are encouraging our thousands of fans to give us their vote!” said Chrissie Menzies, one of the organisers of Wonderwool Wales which took place at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells on April 28 and 29.
Now in their eleventh year, the awards are the biggest in the industry. The shortlisted brands were chosen by members of the knitting and crochet public, who since February have been nominating their favourites across a range of categories via Let’s Knit and Let’s Get Crafting magazines and online via the newly launched website www.letsknit.co.uk/awards.
Thousands of responses have been narrowed down to just five top names in each category, representing the very best in the knitting and crochet industry. Voting is open until August 30 and supporters can vote online at www.letsknit.co.uk/ awards, or via the July issue of Let’s Knit or Issue 102 of Let’s Get Crafting.
Last year almost 15,000 votes were received, with more than 60 companies or individuals recognised across 33 categories. The final list of winners will be published in the Christmas Special issue of Let’s Knit magazine, on sale September 27.
