Sea Cadets launches #ScrapPlastic challenge

SEA CADETS LAUNCHES #SCRAPPLASTIC CHALLENGE

TODAY WE’RE LAUNCHING OUR #SCRAPPLASTIC CHALLENGE, ENCOURAGING SEA CADETS – AND YOU – TO REDUCE YOUR PLASTIC USE OVER 13 DAYS, HELP CLEAN UP YOUR LOCAL WATERWAYS AND FUNDRAISE TO GET MORE YOUNG PEOPLE ON THE WATER.

Our cadet’s each spend an average of 30 hours on our waterways every year, so we see the damage plastic pollution is doing to our environment and we want to play our part in doing something about it.

#ScrapPlastic is centred around 13-days of challenges, one day for every tonne of plastic in our oceans. From cutting out plastic products to finding plastic-free alternatives we’ll show how everyone can make small changes which have a big impact.

At the same time, 90p in every pound you raise will go towards our onshore bursaries, giving more young people opportunities to get out on the water and experience it for themselves. The remaining 10p will go to the Marine Conservation Society to contribute towards the great work they do in looking after our seas.
