School bus passes

NEARLY 5,000 bus passes have been posted out for secondary school pupils ready for September.

Anyone who has not yet received their pass is urged to contact the council immediately.

Executive board member responsible for environment, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: “Some families may have changed address during the last year and have forgotten to tell us, which means their travel passes could have been sent to the old address. I would urge anyone who hasn’t received their passes yet to get in touch with us as soon as possible so that officers have time to deal with the requests before school starts again in September.”

Parents who think their child is eligible for free transport but haven’t yet applied, are being urged to submit their applications online at www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/schooltransport as soon as possible. It is now too late to be added to the arrangements for the start of the new term, but if eligible the Council will try to accommodate as soon as possible.

Parents are also urged to ensure that the stopping details shown on the travel passes are correct, as bus and taxi drivers will only be able to pick up and drop off pupils at the locations shown on their travel passes, and the vehicles will only stop at the points show on the timetables, which are available online at www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/schooltransport

Around 400 passes for primary school pupils will be posted out in the coming weeks.

MAE bron i 5,000 o docynnau bws wedi cael eu postio ar gyfer disgyblion ysgolion uwchradd yn barod ar gyfer mis Medi.

Gofynnir i unrhyw un sydd heb gael ei docyn bws eto gysylltu â’r Cyngor ar unwaith.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Hazel Evans, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol sy’n gyfrifol am yr Amgylchedd: “Mae’n bosibl bod rhai teuluoedd wedi newid cyfeiriad yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf ac wedi anghofio dweud wrthym ni, sy’n golygu y gallai eu tocynnau bws fod wedi cael eu hanfon i’r hen gyfeiriad. Byddwn yn annog unrhyw un sydd heb gael ei docyn bws eto i gysylltu â ni cyn gynted â phosibl er mwyn i swyddogion gael amser i ddelio â’r ceisiadau cyn i’r ysgol ailddechrau ym mis Medi.”

Anogir rhieni sy’n credu bod eu plentyn yn gymwys i gael cludiant am ddim ond nad ydynt wedi gwneud cais eto i gyflwyno cais ar-lein yn: www.sirgar.llyw.cymru/cartref/gwasanaethaur-cyngor/addysg-ac-ysgolion/cludiant-ysgol cyn gynted â phosibl. Mae bellach yn rhy hwyr i ychwanegu plentyn at y trefniadau ar gyfer dechrau’r tymor newydd ond os bydd y plentyn yn gymwys bydd y Cyngor yn ceisio rhoi sylw i hyn cyn gynted â phosibl.

Hefyd anogir rhieni i sicrhau bod y manylion stopio a nodir ar y tocynnau bws yn gywir, gan y bydd gyrwyr bysiau a thacsis yn gallu casglu a gollwng disgyblion dim ond o’r lleoliadau a nodir ar eu tocynnau bws, a bydd y cerbydau yn stopio dim ond yn y mannau a nodir ar yr amserlenni, sydd ar gael yma www.sirgar.llyw.cymru/cartref/gwasanaethaur-cyngor/addysg-ac-ysgolion/cludiant-ysgol
