London Comic Con: A Fan Perspective.

Reviewed by Adam Roberts. July 2nd, 2018.
As a fan of comics, super heroes, and basically anything to do with Sci-Fi, I appreciate a world where you can escape to like most people.

I’ve been to Comic Con a few times, but that was in Wales which mainly consisted of B and C list celebrities but sometimes an A-lister would slip in…….literally, sometimes. Don’t get me wrong I’ve met some really cool celebs at Wales Comic Con. I’ve met Danny John-Jules who was nice enough to give me a short interview. I’ve met Robert Llewellyn who plays Kryten in UK TV series Red Dwarf, Dave Prowse aka Darth Vader. Margot Kidder aka Lois Lane from Superman was a memorable one, may she rest in peace and Chris Barry aka Arnold Rimmer who I actually met over in Western-super-Mare Comic Con which was I have to say was rather tiny.

Compared to London, I would’ve rather gone to the others. London Comic Con had the worst organisation system I have EVER SEEN! (I mean it is one of the capital cities of the world).
There weren’t even any guard railings or notification boards or anything, it was literally loads of people gathered outside the photo booths with fans crowded and huddled like sheep. Actually, I think penguins would be a more appropriate description.

As well as this the people who were working there were just screaming at the crowd, this was my opinion. It was ridiculous. I tell you, in that kind of atmosphere you can really feel the heat emanating off every single person around you. I can’t imagine that could have been very pleasant for the guest celebrities.

The only thing that made up for the whole day was that I got to have my picture taken with American actor Jason Momoa, who’s one of my all-time heroes and I even had the pleasure of shaking the dudes hand. That was something I won’t forget in a hurry!
