Prestigious Taste Of Thailand Now Open In Carmarthen!
Taste Of Thailand which specialises in healthy Thai cuisine has recently opened at a second location within Carmarthenshire. The restaurant and takeaway which is famously located in Llanelli’s Indoor Market for the last two years has now branched out into Carmarthen, it takes pride of place outside the market (next to the clock tower) and has ample seating the same as Llanelli’s Taste Of Thailand.
The West Wales Chronicle met with proprietor Bob Shepherd to find out about the new venture and to sample some of the dishes on the menu. Prices range from £5.50 for a small potion on the listed menu to £6.50 for a larger potion, this is more than reasonable I’m sure you’ll agree for home cooked food. The business has recently received it’s five star hygiene rating and Bob couldn’t be prouder of his family run franchise.
Hospitality received is second to none with a wide variety of dishes on offer with options for vegetarians and those who may have food allergies and intolerances. Previously sampled have been the Thai Red Curry and the Thai Green Curry which have both gone down a treat.
The Chronicle decided to try the Thai Massaman a few days ago and it didn’t disappoint! With smooth and spicy flavours, the Thai curry with potatoes certainly tantalized the taste buds and was just delicious, absolutely no waste whatsoever. Potion size is generous with boiled rice and crackers supplied and the cleanliness is just outstanding, not hard to see why Taste Of Thailand has been so popular within Llanelli’s Indoor Market throughout it’s duration.
Last July saw monks travel all the way from their temple in Rhymney to bless the Llanelli business, they will also be travelling to bless the Carmarthen location soon enough. Since the ‘Taste Of Thailand Carmarthen’ Facebook page went up last Thursday it has generated a staggering 22,000+ likes much to the delight of Bob. The Carmarthen premises boasts home delivery and they are currently looking for a full-time delivery driver. You can message their Facebook page to obtain more information on what the post entails.
Proprietor Bob Shepherd told The West Wales Chronicle:
“We’ve received such a warm welcome in Carmarthen, everyone is so supportive and very friendly. This is a family run business and friends also work for us. Thai food seems to be popular so it just made sense to branch out and share our dishes which are cooked freshly from scratch. We have been overwhelmed with the support received so far, especially the likes that we’ve generated on our Carmarthen Facebook page, it’s been a wonderful surprise.”
