Police are investigating a three vehicle road traffic collision, which involved two police vehicles on their way to an immediate call.
The collision happened at 1.20am this morning on the A48 between Cross Hands and the junction for the National Botanic Gardens.
The third vehicle was not damaged and the two members of the public did not suffer any injuries.
Four officers were in the police vehicles and have sustained minor injuries.
The eastbound section of the 48 has been re-opened. The westbound section remains closed waiting for vehicle recovery.
