NEWS UPDATE: Police Appeal To Speak With Female Passenger After A484 Collision!

Police are investigating a fatal collision which took place on the A484 between Carmarthen and Cwmffrwd at around 6.10am on Sunday, August 12.

We can know confirm that the man who sadly died was Mr Peter Morgan-Salmon, aged 64, from Kidwelly.

Mr Morgan-Salmon’s sister Suzanne Stack has paid tribute, saying:

“As a family, we are devastated by the tragic circumstances leading to Peter’s death. Peter was a kind and generous man, who was loved by his family, friends and was well known throughout his community.

“Peter served in the British Army and for the past 25 years drove taxis. He was a talented artist and enjoyed making beautiful sculptures.

“He is survived by his sister Suzanne, nieces Rhiannon and Bekky, great nieces and nephew Poppy, Logan, Skyla and Anwyn, and cousins Neil Phillips, Gayle and Carys Edwards, Pat and Pam, nee Forth

“We would like to thank the police department for all of the kindness and support to our family, it is greatly appreciated.”

The collision involved a grey Volvo V50 and a silver Toyota Avensis. The driver of the Volvo V50 – a 25-year-old man from Carmarthen – has been arrested in connection with the collision and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. It is believed he dropped a woman off in the Pontyberem area shortly before the collision, and police would like to speak with her to gain any information that might form part of the investigation.
