At Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi, Sixth Form students were celebrating outstanding A Level results this week. 30% of the grades awarded were at A*-A, almost 50% of the grades were awarded at A*-B, and 81% at A*-C. 80% of the students are going on to study at the university of their choice, and all the others have successfully applied for apprenticeships or are going directly into the world of work. 100% of students achieved the level 3 threshold (at least 2 A Levels at grades A*-E). The Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification also proved very successful this year, with 98% of candidates achieving the full Advanced Level Skills Challenge Certificate, 90% of them at grades A*-C. 49% of the Welsh Baccalaureate grades were awarded at grades A* to B, and 26% of the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate grades were awarded at A* or A.

Notable successes included Benjamin James (A*A*A*A) who will study Medicine at University College London; Kacper Rawicki (A*AAAB) who will study Mathematics and Physics at Warwick University; Angharad James (A*AAA) who will study Medicine at the University of Newcastle; Sara Hazzelby (A*AAB) who will study Veterinary Biosciences at Aberystwyth University; Joe Wood (A*AA and Merit Level 3) who will study Geography at Swansea University; Jack Davies (A*ABB) who will study Civil Engineering at Swansea University; Jordan Godfrey (AAA and Merit Level 3) who will study Geography at Exeter University; Catrin John (A*ABC) who will study Primary Education at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David; Eleanor O’Sullivan (AABC) who will study Geography at the University of Southampton, and Bradley Roberts (AABC) who will study Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University.
