Can you introduce yourselves and tell us what each person in the band’s role is?

We are Zookeepers, we’re a 4-piece indie rock band from South Wales. We have Ezra Taylor on vocals and accoustic guitar, Robbie’s our lead guitarist, Matt’s our bassist and Killian’s our drummer.

Can you tell us how long the band have been together ?

The band’s been together for just over a year, we’ve been working on our original songs for the past few months and we’re now ready to gig as much as possible with them.

How would you describe your music ?

Our music is very diverse, we have a song “Winter” which has a very powerful feel to it, then “Bad Company” has a slight blues feel to it, but we also have songs like “Strolling” and “Rob, Kill and Deceive” which are energetic indie dance. So it’s hard to say what our music is, but it’s probably indie-dance-punk-rock-anthemic-pop.

Where do you get your influences for your songs

Our influences come from various artists such as Radiohead and Biffy Clyro.

What makes you different from other bands ?

We work really hard to produce our polished indie rock sound, our songs are formed over months of hard work to be as original and fresh as possible. Our live shows are energetic and powerful, we really put everything into our music.

You are in the final of the Betws FC Carmarthenshire 2013 Battle of the bands which is being held on 27th April what would it mean to you to win the competition?

It would be incredible! The opportunity to play at beach break could be life changing.

Do you plan to enter the Llanelli 2013 Battle of the Bands competition which is scheduled for May 2013 ?

Yes we do, we’re trying to get as much recognition as possible, we believe our songs are good and we want them to be heard.

Whats the best and worst thing about being in a band?

The best thing is definitely playing live, we put everything into our live shows and the worst thing is probably that we all have really strong opinions and can sometimes cause slight disagreements..haha.

Do you have any advice for people wanting to play in a band – i.e best way to find band members etc ?

Get in a band with people you get on with, that’s the important part, music flows much easier when you’re with people you’re comfortable being around.

Where can people find out more about the band and how to book you for gigs- e.g website or Facebook etc ?
