Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!

Is a tune that might actually make it into the Top 40 due to the number of downloads it’s had since Margaret Thatcher’s death.

Yes it’s distasteful, really distasteful in fact and hurtful for her family. Lets face it though what’s really shocking is the over the top mourning from the right wing press in this country and their sudden willingness to try and re-write history.

‘Gosh I really love Maggie,’ enthused yet another faceless pundit who had been shunted on to the News yesterday.

‘She was the Iron Lady, yet she was still a lady’, gushed another. To be honest though it’s a bit like saying I have a rusty minge, yet it’s still a minge…

A Martian landing today would come to the conclusion that Margaret Thatcher was in fact Mother Theresa given all of the press coverage about her. She healed the sick and walked on Water indeed I have a quote about that.

“If my critics saw me walking over the Thames they would say it was because I couldn’t swim.”

Margaret Thatcher.

As for quotes:

The world has lost one of the great champions of freedom and liberty, and America has lost a true friend. “She stands as an example to our daughters that there is no glass ceiling that can’t be shattered.

Barack Obama

OK then Barack step down and give Hilary the Job…

Thought not, it’s the same remembrances being played over and over again, in which we’re happily informed that she stood up the Argies and ‘This lady is not for turning’ and she did a tremendous amount of good and righted the economy making us strong when previously we were economically sick.

Thing is though I think we can trace all of today’s economic problems to her decisions, I remember whole families surviving on £1 per day in the wake of the Miner’s Strike and others having to accept food parcels and donated clothing for the kids.

Other pundits have come on-stream and said that she did great things for women. I don’t think she did, she used the feminist vote to get into office but did nothing further to help the feminist cause.

“I owe nothing to Women’s Lib.”

Margaret Thatcher

That”s not all have a look at these quotes…

“I don’t mind how much my Ministers talk, so long as they do what I say.”

Margaret Thatcher

“There are still people in my party who believe in consensus politics. I regard them as Quislings, as traitors… I mean it.”

Margaret Thatcher

Ok F**k democracy then…

“I’m extraordinarily patient provided I get my own way in the end.”

Margaret Thatcher.

Ok more F**k democracy, a leader that cannot be swayed by reasoned argument is not a leader at all but a dictator…

“There is no such thing as society: there are individual men and women, and there are families.”

Margaret Thatcher

Meaning that you are on your own. That last bit can easily be confirmed by anyone who is working class….

It’s all sad but true, and on the subject of truth….

“You don’t tell deliberate lies, but sometimes you have to be evasive.”

Margaret Thatcher.

Despite all of the Men presently gushing over her.

I usually make up my mind about a man in ten seconds, and I very rarely change it.

Margaret Thatcher.

Not many of those quotes in the gushy right wing press….

Of course not, that would dent the legend they are trying to create, as I am typing this there is a petition on the Daily Mail website to give Margaret Thatcher a State Funeral. I mean for F**k’s Sake, Edward Heath didn’t get a ‘Ceremonial Funeral’ (read a State Funeral by stealth), neither did James Callaghan and indeed neither did Harold Wilson who won (wait for it…. four general elections) and refused to join the US war effort in Vietnam.

He also enacted the building of nearly 1.5 million council houses and offered their tenants the right to buy which is something that is normally attributed to Margaret Thatcher.

“To encourage home ownership, the government introduced the Option Mortgage Scheme (1968), which made low-income housebuyers eligible for subsidies (equivalent to tax relief on mortgage interest payments). This scheme had the effect of reducing housing costs for buyers on low incomes.”

In addition to that he strongly advocated Gay rights, brought in the Equal Pay Act so that women and men had to have the same rate of pay for the same job and enacted legal protections so that tenants couldn’t be evicted without plenty of due notice or a court order if it was an enforced eviction.

If you are Welsh and proud you’d be chuffed to learn that Harold Wilson also brought in the act that gave the Welsh Language parity with English!

If you read the wikipedia entry highlighted above, you can argue that his achievements were much more significant than Thatcher’s. Indeed you could argue that he has achieved more than any prime minister since, so where the f**k was his ‘Ceremonial/State Funeral?’

What’s so special about Thatcher?

She made the rich richer and the richest people in the country own or strongly influence the media, that’s what’s special about her. It’s sychophantic and depressing.

‘Yeah, we really love you Margaret, you’re doing a great job…. Kerrr-Ching! Keep it up old girl the country is fine and getting better by the moment! Kerr-Ching, Kerr-Ching, Kerr-Ching! I’m so chuffed with you I’m going to write nice things about you in my newspaper and tell all of my pals to do the same thing…. You’ll be popular…’

When the subject of economic devastation of former industrial areas came up, one Tory said “well you’ve got to remember that people went to work in the mines, when the mines shut they should have moved to other places where there was plenty of work”

Globalised Humans! By that mentality we’d all be living in F**king China!

That’s the divide, Thick f**king Tories with no clue that a community isn’t just about jobs, that people like to
be near their families, to be on hand to look after their elderly mum or dad instead of being forced to live hundreds of miles away where there is work.

Thick f**king economists that talk about roads and schools as ‘infrastructure’ that don’t understand that human beings have a connection with the land they are raised on and would quite like their kids to go to the same schools that they attended.

Thick f**king psychotic tw*ts that don’t understand human emotions so crave power instead and fail to understand that human beings only work for money because it’s the only game in town but actually don’t value it that much because their families and friends come first.

Thick f**king politicians that don’t understand that the whole country is not London and that if London is ok, then by default the rest of the country is not ok. That the regions need a bit of help that they owe a debt to the people who voted them in to represent their needs in parliament instead of representing parliament in their constituency.

That amongst other things is Thatcher’s legacy and I for one will not f**king miss her.
