Thursday August 30 saw Fforwm Llanelli Forum hold a promotional stand in Llanelli Town Centre. This was to inform the general public of the Forum’s activities and to identify priorities for action.

The stand was well attended and the informal and unscientific survey revealed that the following three issues were of most concern to Llanelli residents.

These were :

*Llanelli Town Centre

*The NHS (especially the hospital)

*Crime.

There was support  independent Llanelli town councillors John Evan Jones and Sean Rees and also from the Carmarthenshire Liberal Democrats. The Forum was able to provide a platform for raising funds for the Observation and Assessment Unit at Ysgol Y Felin which provides for children with special education needs.

Llanelli Forum has already planned to hold a debate on the town centre on Wednesday September 12 at 7 pm. This will be at the Selwyn Samuel Centre. Confirmed participants include town councillors David Darkin, Siôn Davies and John Jenkins.
