South Wales Police: Detectives Investigating Shop Robbery In Bridgend

Detectives investigating a robbery at a shop in Bridgend are appealing for witnesses who saw a man on a bike to come forward.

South Wales Police are investigating a robbery which took place at Brackla General Store in Waunscil Avenue Bridgend shortly after 3.45pm last Friday (September 7). Nobody was injured in the incident. A quantity of cash was stolen though.

The suspect is described as a white man, who was wearing a hooded top and was seen by witnesses leaving the area on a mountain bike.

Detective Inspector Andy Paddison said:

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity before, during or after the incident. The suspect rode off on a push bike in the daytime from the store.

“If you saw someone matching the description riding around the area or have any information which could assist the investigation then please give us a call.

“We would like to reassure the community that these type of incidents are uncommon and we will utilise all appropriate resources to bring the offender to justice.”
