Captain Marvel Trailer Review.
After watching the release of the upcoming Captain Marvel trailer, all I could think was one word… WOW.
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!
This film looks incredible. I know we have more trailers to come but this really took my breath away, and I love the fact that it all takes place in the 90s and seeing Nick Fury played by Samuel L. Jackson, before as we know him today, and without the eyepatch. It seems the whole premise with Fury is that this takes place before he even had the idea of forming the Avengers of even possibly before he even joined S.H.I.E.L.D. I don’t know for certain, that’s just my thought. But this is without a doubt a side of Nick Fury that we’ve never seen before.
Now when the first images of Brie Larson first came out with her wearing the suit, I know not a lot of people took well to it with all that green and blue. But I originally thought they were going to do something fancy and clever with it, like they were going to use the green bits of the suit in a sort of greenscreen kind of scenario if you get what I mean? But it’s not, it’s actually the earlier version where she was a member of Starforce, an elite military team of soldiers for an alien race called the Kree as you all have seen in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now this trailer doesn’t actually reveal that much about where the story goes plot wise and the antagonist doesn’t show up at all. It’s just a load of action sequences and revealing of who’s going to be featured which does make me think why they put the trailer together this way? But keeping in mind that Marvel aren’t really in the habit of revealing too much information until they need to. Plus, they have had tremendous success over the last decade so I’m sure they know what they’re doing.
The cast looks incredible. I had no idea until yesterday that Jude Law would be showing un in this film. Jude Law plays the character Walter Lawson aka Mar-Vell. Get it? Being Carol Danvers mentor and commander, Mar-Vell trains her to use powers and recruits her to the Starforce team. Clark Gregg makes a reprising role in this epic feature as rookie agent Phil Coulson, who I’ve always wanted to see portray… personally I think it’s going to be hilarious as he has done a lot of humour in tv series.
Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Djimon Hounsou makes a reappearance as Korath who you saw in the first Guardians of the Galaxy under Ronan the Accuser played by Lee Pace .
I wonder if we’ll see a young Peter Quill in this film?
Anyway, Captain Marvel is due to be released in theatres on March the 8th of 2019 in IMAX and 3D and thanks for reading.
