Swansea City vs Ipswich Town (October 6) at Liberty Stadium Swansea.

Swansea City should have had this game wrapped up early today (October 6) and it all looked so promising when Daniel James crossed the ball at pace from the Ipswich byline, which flashed across the six yard box with striker Oli McBurnie flinging himself at it but agonisingly failed to make contact. But it was Connor Roberts who retrieved the ball on the far side of the penalty area and cut his way inside and fired a shot that was deflected into the Ipswich goal 1-0

It all appeared one way traffic as Swans controlled the game with their possession football.
However Ipswich exposed flaws within the Swans rearguard and it was against the run of play that ex Swan Gwion Edwards scored a good goal to level the scores 1-1
Swans continued to exert pressure but failed to capitalise on their good play and the inevitable happened on the half hour mark when Freddie Sears broke through and forced Swans skipper Mike van der Hoorn to concede an own goal 1-2
So at the break it was the visitors from Suffolk who had the lead much to the dismay of the home support.
The second half almost followed the same pattern as the first with Swans introducing their substitutes to try and get themselves back in the game.
Swans Captain Fer and Asoro were brought on as well as McKay. Swans boss made a bold move by taking off his stalwart centre half Mike van der Hoorn and go with three at the back.
This led to arguably the best team goal of the game. A move which started from their own goal line and swept right up the pitch with one touch slick passing resulting in Bersant Celina placing his shot into the far corner of the Ipswich goal net 2-2.
Credit to Ipswich they didn’t sit back but pushed the Swans back and exposed the Swans defence when Trevoh Chalobah put his team back infront again and deflated the home support once again.
With 5 minutes added time the Swans could not find a way back into the game.
Final score:
Swansea City 2
Ipswich Town 3
