NEW SPONSOR FOR THE BIG RACE OF THE YEAR AT FFOS LAS

The Dunraven Group is the new sponsor of the biggest race of the year at Ffos Las
Racecourse, the Welsh Champion Hurdle.

The race, over two miles, is worth £45,000 in prize money and takes place on Saturday the 20th of
October at the course near Llanelli. There is more than £100,000 of prize money on offer on
the day.

Since 1979, Dunraven Windows have been providing excellent customer service installing a
range of products from high security Windows and Doors, Designer Conservatories, Porches,
Canopies to Flat Roofing and more.

David Brace, the chairman of the Dunraven Group, is a highly respected and well-known
supporter of jump racing and point to point racing in Wales. His grandson Connor has just
joined leading jump trainer Fergal O’Brien as conditional jockey.

The Welsh Champion Hurdle, which moved from Chepstow to Ffos Las in 2011, always
attracts a highly quality field with previous winners including The New One, Oscar Whisky,
Saphir Du Rheu and Garde Le Victoire.

Mr Brace said:

“We have a record of supporting horse racing across Wales and we are delighted to support the Welsh Champion Hurdle for the first time. It is a great race to be associated with and we look forward to seeing a quality field line up for the prize.”

Phil Bell, Executive Director of Chepstow and Ffos Las Racecourses, said:

”We are very grateful for the support of the Dunraven Group. They already sponsor an evening’s racing at Chepstow which includes the popular Dunraven Bowl and it’s great news that they have extended their support to Ffos Las, for what is always a high-quality contest.”

There are seven races on Welsh Champion Hurdle day starting from 2.10pm on Saturday the 20th
of October.
