Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is investing £15 million in RainScape, an innovative plan to manage rainwater flow in Llanelli.
RainScape will catch, redirect and slow down the speed at which rainwater enters the local sewer network. At the same time, it will help to create a greener, cleaner place to live.
Following the public exhibitions held at Stebonheath Park,wDwr Cymru would like to update everyone on the progress of the scheme.
RainScape Queen Mary’s Walk
From this week (11th June 2013 start), Dwr Cymru will be installing RainScape solutions in the area. This will include a landscaped channel on the playing field at Queen Mary’s Walk, and a new roadside planting feature on Regalia Terrace. The football pitch will not be affected by the RainScape solutions.
When and where?
Dwr Cymru will begin work on RainScape Queen Mary’s Walk in mid June 2013 and it will take 4 months to complete. The work will take place Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
The roads in the area will remain open, but temporary traffic lights may be used periodically.
