PEMBROKESHIRE FOR EUROPE JOINS PEOPLE’S MARCH IN LONDON

24 Pembrokeshire for Europe supporters took a coach to London on Saturday the 20th of October to take part in the People’s March calling for the British public to have a People’s Vote on the terms of leaving the European Union with the option of remaining within the EU. The coach was full after it picked up more supporters in Bridgend. Other supporters from Pembrokeshire made their own way to London where they were joined by over 700,000 People’s Vote supporters from across Britain.

Alistair Cameron from Pembrokeshire for Europe said:

“With its reliance on farming, tourism and trade with the EU as well as our two ferry links with Ireland it is in Pembrokeshire’s interests to remain within the EU. We have also benefited from a lot of EU funding to improve our road links to the rest of the UK. We hope our two county MPs will put Pembrokeshire’s interests first and vote for a People’s Vote with the option of remaining within the EU when this comes before Parliament.”

Last Saturday (27th of October), Pembrokeshire for Europe held a street stall in Narberth where we asked the public questions about how Brexit will affect the economy, Wales and the UK’s standing in the World. We also asked whether there should be a People’s Vote on the final deal. The result showed a lot of deep concern over Brexit and support for a People’s Vote.

Alistair Cameron said:

“We know that this survey is not scientific but it does show a lot of people who visited the stall support a People’s Vote on the final deal.”
