NEWS UPDATE
The West Wales Chronicle has received reports just after 4.30pm this afternoon (November 1) of a male igniting fireworks, namely rockets at Llanelli train station.
From mobile phone footage sent to us which lasts approximately seven minutes, it’s visible that there are members of the general public including children on both platforms as well as a train pulling up into the station at the time this incident has taken place.
Some of our stills show the male position one of the rockets.
A member of the general public (who asked to remain anonymous) told the West Wales Chronicle:
“I was waiting on the platform ready to go home and it was alarming to see a man randomly lighting rockets in broad daylight. It’s quite a busy time of the day and it’s not something that I’ve ever seen before. Clearly there is a lack of common sense, why would someone even do that? What goes through some people’s head is just beyond me.
“It’s concerning as there were quite a few people just watching in disbelief, they were unsure what to do. Staff are obviously aware and so are the police now. Someone could have seriously got hurt, thankfully nobody has been.”
Dyfed-Powys Police have been contacted for an official comment on this incident.
