TRADING Standards chiefs are warning residents in Kidwelly to be vigilant about traders who cold call offering to lay asphalt or do power washing.
The area is being leafleted by Trading Standards Officers giving advice to residents and businesspeople.
Officers are warning that itinerant traders offering asphalt works are operating in the area and are urging residents to beware traders offering claiming to have asphalt left over from council works. They are also offering to clean and power wash drives and patios.
Head of Public Protection Philip Davies said: “I would urge people to be extremely vigilant and not to engage the services of any contractor who turn up at their property unannounced. They have no guarantee of the standard of work that will be carried out.
“The advice is to not get involved in any way and to refuse all offers of any work.”
