Jones Crisps Anglesey Half Marathon – celebrating the fastest ‘Joneses’
On your marks all Joneses, get set for the hunt to find the fastest Jones!
The fastest “Jones” male and female runners to cross the line in the 2019 ‘Jones Crisps’ Anglesey Half Marathon on March the 3rd (next year) will be awarded a special cash prize of £100.00 each.
Geraint Hughes from Jones Crisps said:
“Jones is the most common surname in Wales, and Jones Crisps are proud to be a Jones. We therefore wanted to celebrate the surname and give a special award to the fastest male and female runner who share this special name”
“We are quite sure that there’s no other race on this planet that offers a special prize for runners named Jones. And it’s not as easy as it may sound, as there will be plenty of Joneses running in this part of the World!” added Geraint Hughes.
The 13.1 mile race starts on the world famous Menai Suspension Bridge, then follows the coast road to Beaumaris Castle looping back to the finish in Menai Bridge. With thousands of supporters and spectators lined along the route, this is indeed a special day.
The Half Marathon is just one race that will be held on the day. Always Aim High Events also organise a 10k run, and a one-mile children’s race.
“The majority of the course is over closed roads, so it’s suitable for runners of all abilities, and through some spectacular scenery, and the feedback from runners is that it’s always a lovely event to take in” said Tim Lloyd, Always Aim High Events director.
All the adults crossing the half marathon and 10k run finish line will he handed a packet of Jones Crisps to help them replenish their carbohydrate and salt levels after their exertion.
“Crisps are an excellent way for runners to stoke up after a run, to help their energy levels” added Tim Lloyd, “and we know our competitors love them.”
With registrations flooding in already, Always Aim High Events urge runners to get their application forms in as soon as possible!
