A man has been charged following an attempted armed robbery at the Lifestyle Express store in West Cross on Sunday evening (November 25).

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 8.15pm after the suspect was detained by a shop worker and a member of the public until police arrived.

Jacob Tyson, 28, of no fixed address, appeared before Swansea Magistrates’ Court this morning (November 27) charged with attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
