Christmas Community Concert
This is organized by Burry Port Male choir on Friday 10 December at 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Parc y Minos Street, Burry Port. The choir to host and perform with the help of local school children including Pembrey CP School, Burry Port Junior and Glan-y-Mor Comprehensive. Also performing are Elizabeth Bevan, Burry Port Opera Chorus and a section of Burry Port Town Band. Compere is Rev Eric Davies. Entrance strictly by £3 programme. These available from choristers, the schools, 01554 834371 or at box office on the night. Proceeds to a local charity.

Cefn Sidan U3a
The Burry Port and Pembrey U3a group meetings in December include today Wednesday 1 December the business, theatre and excursion group coffee morning at 11am.Monday 6 at 10.30am is the committee meeting and 2.15pm the computer group. Tuesday 7 is the walking group Christmas lunch also at 2.15pm the film group is showing How Green is my Valley. Monday 13 the gardening group go to Hilton Court and Haverfordwest. Friday 17 is the Welsh and craft group’s Christmas lunch. Monday 20 at 2.15pm the Speaker’s main meeting has a Christmas Drama. Tuesday 21 at 10.30am is the local history group bring your own historical item and the short walk group. Monday 27 December the drama group is cancelled as is the short walk on 27 and Welsh on 31.Meetings usually take place in the Memorial Hall annexe, except walking group, and new members will be most welcome in the New Year. Legion Entertainment
The Royal British Legion club, Burry Port presents on Saturday 11 December the sound of Garth Rocky, vocal entertainer. Doors open 7pm. Entrance for members and guests £3.Bingo last books 7.50pm.

Burry Port Historical Society.
The next meeting of the Pembrey and Burry Port Historical Society will be at 6:30pm on Tuesday 14 December with a talk by Mr Peter Goodall entitled Tales of Punishment and Torture in Haverfordwest.This will take place at the Memorial Hall & Institute,Rooms 2/3,Parc-y-Minos Street,Burry Port.As usual at the December meeting this will be a social Evening with a buffet provided,hence the earlier time.New members and non-members are always welcome to join our meetings.

Age Cymru Nordic Walking
Training sessions in Nordic Walking take place every Wednesday meet in Sandpiper Inn car park at 1.45pm. This type of exercise is suitable for people of all fitness levels. After checking with your doctor it may be suitable for people with a range of health conditions. Nordic Walking is Europe’s fastest growing form of physical activity using a pair of lightweight poles. These provide support while increasing the effectiveness of the exercise. It should use 90% of your muscles and burn 20% more calories than ordinary walking at the same speed. Once trained there are various walks taking place on different week days and starting points in this area. If you are interested in getting fit, improving your flexibility or losing weight come and join us.
