Parc y Scarlets set to host UEFA Women's U19 Championship final

From the 19th August, West Wales will play host to a prestigious European football tournament, the first UEFA finals tournament Wales has ever hosted with the final staged at Parc y Scarlets.

There are three towns hosting matches. Carmarthen (Richmond Park), Llanelli (Stebonheath and Parc y Scarlets) and Haverfordwest (Bridge Meadow). Wales will be facing some of the best national sides from around Europe. So come and watch some of the best female players in the world, here in West Wales. Be part of this prestigious football event.

Momentum and interest in the tournament is really gathering pace now, with a week to go until Wales kick-off the tournament against Denmark at Parc y Scarlets.

Wales National Team Manager, Chris Coleman has showed his support for the event saying: “This is a massive opportunity for Wales. Being awarded a UEFA Finals Tournament shows that Wales is ready and able to host such a prestigious football event.”

Chris went on to mention the legacy and long term benefits of the tournament: “In terms of girl’s participation in the sport, this (tournament) will have a huge impact. It will highlight the skill levels in the women’s game, and provide young people with sporting role models”.

The tournament kicks off at Parc y Scarlets where Wales play Denmark in the opening match on 19th August, with the final again at Parc y Scarlets on 31st August.

UEFA Women’s U19 Championship games hosted at Parc y Scarlets:

• Monday 19th August: Wales v Denmark, KO 2pm and Germany v Norway, KO 7pm
• Sunday 25th August: Denmark v England, KO 3pm
• Wednesday 28th August: Semi-final, KO 12.30 (live on Eurosport)
• Saturday 31st August: Final, KO 3pm
