ORIEL Myrddin Gallery features the works of Carmarthenshire artist Catrin Davies.
The rural county show flavoured works are the latest of the ‘Back Wall’ series of Welsh artists.
Catrin was born and brought up in Rhandirmwyn in the upper Tywi Valley.
She studied art in Carmarthen, followed by a ‘fine art’ degree in Sunderland Polytechnic.
Catrin lives and works in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.
Known for her work as an architectural stained glass artist, Catrin also paints and draws as part of her art practice.
The work she has made specifically for Oriel Myrddin Gallery compliments the council’s ‘County Show’ exhibition currently in the main gallery, which features Carmarthenshire craft makers.
Catrin says of her creations: “The work comes from my surroundings, and what I am part of. I have held small exhibitions locally and it is a joy when pieces stand for themselves and make their way into the world.”
