Winter Weather Information

Sunny spells during the day with road surface temperatures briefly recovering. There is a risk of the odd light snow shower on Tuesday night. Thereafter it will become slightly less cold, although road surface temperatures will still fall below zero overnight.

Roads

East: Primary routes have again been treated throughout the night. Secondary routes continue to be treated in all sectors. Minor roads in northern part of area particularly bad. Hand gangs continue to treat footways/respond to requests in outlying areas.

West: Primary routes gritted at 6pm last night and at 4am this morning. Secondary routes continue to be treated
as well as footways and paved areas.
Refuse Collections

All refuse/ recycling vehicles are out collecting today from the three depots.

Carmarthen depot: Collections taking place with the exception of rural villages serviced by caged vehicles in particular Llanybydder and Whitemill areas.

Glanamman depot: Collections taking place with the exception of rural villages serviced by caged vehicles in particular Llansawel, Ffarmers etc.

Trostre depot: Most areas okay with the exception of some side streets which will be attempted later in the shift.

Rural roads, side streets and pavements problematic in all three depots, catch up taking place wherever possible.

Collections are being made wherever safe and possible, advice to residents will be to take the bags in, either place them out on the next appropriate collection week or take them to the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre if safe to do so.

Four bag rule: The four bag rule will be suspended during this time.

Recycling centres/ bring sites:
Main sites are being serviced, smaller sites inspected and emptied.

Trade:
Collections taking place but a small percentage left behind until later in the shift, if missed, collections will be made in the week where all excess will be collected.

Bulks:
Collections attempted, no non collection reports as yet.

Household Waste Recycling Centres:
All sites are open.
