Llanelli Town will unveil their fixture list for the season on Thursday and it is expected that there will be several midweek and friday evening games at Stebonheath Park, as the club aim to get the local community behind it as it aims to rebuild.
The first home game is Saturday 14th September, with Liswerry the visitors (kick off 2.30pm), while the first midweek game is the visit of Newcastle Emlyn on Wednesday 25th September (kick off 7.45pm). Admission this season will be £3 for adults and £1 concessions. Children Under 16 will be admitted free of charge.
Manager Bob Jeffrey is optimistic for the season and said this week:
“I was pleased to get three points on the board against Bettws last week. We had a difficult start with the Welsh Cup game at Newcastle Emlyn coming just days after we were admitted into the Welsh League and Barry Town United, well anyone would have found that a mountain to climb as they have kept most of last seasons squad together and have been training and playing several friendlies while in limbo.”
“We played some superb football in the first half against Bettws, leading 4-0 at the interval thanks to Craig Frater (2), Jak Shannon and Declan John, but dug in during the second period, with Craig Frater completing his hatrick from the penalty spot after Bettws had caused us a scare at 4-3.”
“Another three points at Risca on Saturday will set us up for what will be a tough baptism at Stebo against league newcomers Liswerry from Newport. I hope all our old supporters turn out to watch as well as gaining some new faces.”
“We had Liswerry watched a couple of weeks ago and they will be very dangerous from all accounts. First though Risca, and a bus will be leaving Stebonheath at 11.45am on Saturday. Any supporters who wish to book on the bus are advised to contact Mike Hope on 07875514627. Thanks for your support in advance.”
