FOR the first time in its history Carmarthenshire’s Executive Board will be holding a meeting in Pontyberem.
It will take place in the Memorial Hall on Monday, September 16, from 11am, and members of the public are encouraged to go along.
The move is part of an initiative by Leader Cllr Kevin Madge to make the Executive Board more accessible to the public, and to further develop relationships with town and community councils.
Cllr Madge also wants to meet town and community councils in their own areas and take the opportunity to visit local businesses or schools.
It follows previous meetings held in Ammanford, Kidwelly, Llandeilo, Llanelli, Whitland and Newcastle Emlyn, and further ones are planned for other parts of the county.
Representatives from Trimsaran, Llangyndeyrn, Pontyberem, Llannon, Gorslas, Llanddarog and Llanarthne community councils are invited.
A private meeting with them will follow the formal Executive Board which will include a discussion on collaborative working opportunities and an opportunity to bring up matters raised by the town and community councils.
Cllr Madge said: “This is the latest in a series of meetings of the Executive Board which are held at different locations around Carmarthenshire.
“I am keen to visit as many places as possible, and meet with as many town and community councils in their own areas, as I can.
“Hopefully this will help us further develop working relationships and collaborative opportunities.
“I also hope local people will take this opportunity to come along to the Executive Board.”
