While Dyfed-Powys is a safe place to live, you need to remember to take simple steps to look after yourself, your friends and your belongings.

Aside from getting to grips with class schedules, new digs and making friends Dyfed-Powys Police want to ensure that the new arrivals have all the information they need to make sure university life is crime free.

Sergeant Justin Evans says: “When you are out having fun, remember to key an eye on your personal belongs, bags, phones, wallets etc as well as your drinks. There is not a problem with drinks being spiked in Llanelli, but we have a few reports where people think it has happened.

“When we investigate it is usually the result of people drinking heavily before they go out and then feeling the sudden affect a little while later.”

Police will also be working in collaboration with a variety of partners to ensure that new students have a safe and enjoying start to their studies.
