Explosion – Waun Las, Neath – Update
Steve Williams, Wales & West Utilities Gas Emergency Service Manager for Neath said:
“We were called to reports of an explosion at the Waun Las block of flats in Waunceirch yesterday evening (the 14th of January), and immediately sent engineers to the scene.
“On arrival, we found that there had been structural damage to the property and worked alongside other emergency services to isolate the gas supply to the affected property and make the area safe.
“We have now carried out tests and can confirm that the explosion was not related to the mains gas network. We will continue to support the emergency services as they investigate the cause of this explosion.
“If anyone smells gas, thinks they have a gas leak, or suspects carbon monoxide poisoning, they should call us on 0800 111 999 and our engineers will be there to help, day or night.”
