THE spooky goings on at Llanelli Children’s Library are enough to send a shivers down your spine!

Families took part in a skeleton-themed story and craft session at Llanelli Children’s Library over the half-term holidays. Activities included creating a skeleton out of pasta, finding out facts, sharing jokes and spooky stories.

Children also exchanged their thoughts about maintaining healthy bones. And after chatting about the importance of a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise, some of the children loosened their limbs by joining in with the bony hokey-cokey.

One parent said: “The activity was very informative. My daughter enjoyed making her own skeleton and doing the hokey-cokey at the end!’”

Another said: “It’s fantastic to see such an interactive and fun event organised for the children during half-term.”

Llanelli Library is open from Monday to Saturday for people to lend books, DVDs and CDs, and use the free IT facilities.

There are free craft and story events during most school holidays.

Cllr Meryl Gravell, Executive Board Member for Heritage and Libraries, said: “This was a great way to get children in to the library during the school holidays and introduce them to the many free activities that the library has to offer.”
