A CARMARTHENSHIRE Youth Council member is calling on the Welsh Government to create an all-Wales bullying policy.
Former Bryngwyn pupil Ryan Davies is also a representative of Funky Dragon, which is the children and young people’s assembly for Wales.
Its aim is to enable children and young people in Wales to get their voices heard by Government and others who make decisions about policies and services that affect their lives.
Ryan, aged 16, will be delivering his message during the Bullying – Sharing the Challenge Conference, which will feature a panel consisting of members of Funky Dragon as well as Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Jeff Cuthbert AM, Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Keith Towler and Superintendent Liane Bartlett of South Wales Police.
As part of anti-bullying week, Ryan representing young people’s views in Wales, will call on the Welsh Government to create an all-Wales anti-Bullying policy for all schools and colleges.
He said: “The event is a great opportunity for Funky Dragon to directly influence policy and also to promote the voice of young people.
“I feel incredibly confident that the day will bring more awareness to the issue of bullying in schools and also to the work that myself and Funky dragon are doing across Wales.”
