LLANELLIāS Carnival procession follows a slightly amended route this year to accommodate the record breaking 30 elements taking part.
The procession will leave Llanelli Festival Fields where floats will have been decorated all day ( Friday Nov 22nd) at 6.15 and proceed along the following route and as detailed in the graphic above.
Route > Festival Fields > Sandy Road > across Junction of Denham Avenue > Sandy Roundabout > Pembrey Road > West End > Hall Street (NB the carnival will not be going up Gelli Onn) but passing from West End to > Church Street > across the front of Llanelli Town Hall and a variation to past years into. Station Road > right at junction into Queen Victoria Road > right in Erw Road > Waunlanyrafon and back into Town Hall Square. The procession will park up on both sides of the dual carriageway.
A rolling road block will apply to the carnival as it navigates from Festival Fields blocking vehicular access to Llanelli town from the west from 6.15 to 8pm to all bar emergency vehicles.
Some roads in Llanelli Town Centre will be closing from 5pm for health and safety reasons.
The carnival is organised by Llanelli Round Table with support from the county, Llanelli Town and Rural Councils, Carmarthenshire Radio and the Welsh Blood Service. Llanelli Town Council is hosting the carnival this year.
