We are looking to recruit volunteers for our Country Cars project:
1 – Volunteer Drivers.
Our volunteer driver role involves giving elderly people lifts to GP appointments, dental appointments, the optician, dentist or even just taking someone shopping from time to time. Your own car is essential but all mileage expenses are paid. We need drivers across Carmarthenshire
2 – Area Organisers.
Our area organisers take the journey bookings and delegate the journeys to their team of volunteer drivers. Although some area organisers also do some driving, the role does not require it. So even if you don’t drive but would like to volunteer from the comfort of your own home then this could be the opportunity for you.
We particularly need Area Organisers to cover the following areas:
Ammanford, Newcastle Emlyn, Burry Port, Gwendraith, St. Clears.
3 – Scheme Organisers.
Again this role does not require a car or any driving. It is more of an admin role. Our Scheme Organisers collate the paperwork that the drivers and Area Organisers have completed and submit it to the central office at the end of each month. This role is also suitable for someone who would like to volunteer from the comfort of their own home.
We particularly need Scheme Organisers to cover the following areas:
Whitland, Carmarthen, Ammanford
You do not necessarily need to live in a particular area to be a Scheme or Area Organiser for that area as the roles mainly consist of making and receiving telephone calls and a collating a very small amount of paperwork received through the post once a month.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in any of these volunteering opportunities then please give us a ring on 01269 843819
