Ffwrnes Theatre gig

A month shy of a year ago, we played the Kazbar in town to around 40 people.Ā

We were still called V0iD at that time. People were finding it hard to find the band on social media and on music steaming services so, 6 months ago we changed the name of the band to Scarlet Rebels, the Scarlet being our reference to Llanelli…Ā

We were busy for the whole of the year, we really worked hard, travelling the length and breadth of the UK to build some momentum, gaining followers the old fashioned way. All the while we were recording an album which is due out this year.Ā

It was mentioned to us by Alun Rees and Matty Lynch of Cadno Music Live, would we be interested in doing a night in the Ffwrnes Theatre. Of course, we were! Yet, there was a reluctance as the thought of playing somewhere like the Ffwrnes to 40 people, isnā€™t nice…Especially in our hometown, where do you go from there if it bombs?

Thankfully, it didnā€™t…We arrived to do our sound checks on the morning of the 2nd and found out that it was a sell out and that people were being turned away. We could have sold more… We had people travel from every corner of the country to visit Llanelli to come and see us play. Itā€™s just so humbling…Ā

Weā€™ll always be grateful to the staff at the Ffwrnes, Alun and Matty and of course to those that came down to support us. I had to pinch myself at times, to take myself out of the performance zone to appreciate what going on in front of me…

It was the perfect start to this year selling out our hometown show, weā€™ve secured a spot at the biggest indoor festival in Europe for 2020, we have our album being released worldwide later this year and have nearly 40 gigs booked already for 2019 with more coming in all the time. We want to help put the local music scene on the map and weā€™re working harder than ever to make it so. Thereā€™s so much more to come from us having the support of our home town means the world to us
