Keith Davies AM has lent his support to Small Business Saturday on 7th December 2013. Keith is encouraging Llanelli residents to support small businesses and independent traders in the run up to Christmas by shopping local.

This is the UK’s first year of the campaign, held on the first Saturday in December as one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The UK-wide call urges all small business of any kind to get involved, following from its success in the US. The Welsh Labour Government is running a social media campaign to promote the day.

Keith Davies AM said:

“Small and independent businesses are the backbone of our economy in Wales. Llanelli town centre and local shops across the constituency are integral to the communities around them. This is a fantastic reminder and opportunity to shop local in the run up to Christmas.”

“Although running UK-wide and set to show celebration and support on a large scale, this is a grass roots campaign. Local businesses support the local economy and local jobs.”

“I am keen to encourage Llanelli residents to shop locally this Saturday, and let’s seek to make this a long term commitment.”
