Officers will be out and about across the force area in the next couple of weeks as they continue with their Christmas don’t drink and drive campaign.
In Carmarthenshire alone five drivers were charged with driving over the limit during the first weekend of the campaign.
“It won’t just be those driving erratically that will be stopped by officers,” said Inspector Mark Davies. “They’ll also be carrying out routine stop checks randomly. So if you think it’s ok to just have one or two and not get caught trying to drive home, think again.”
- The advice from police is simple – don’t drink and drive
- Consider the consequences of drink driving on your health, your family, your job and others
- If you’re caught drink driving you could be banned from driving or go to prison
- Don’t get into a car with someone who is under the influence of drink or drugs and attempts to drive
