Plaid condemn the budget cuts and job losses at Dyfed-Powys Police. Sean Rees, Plaid Llanelli Press Officer said:

“The Party of Wales completely condemn the 20% budget cut and further loss of 118 jobs being imposed on Dyfed Powys Police by the U.K Government.”

“The Tories are completely out of touch, yet again this is another clear sign of why we are not ‘all in this together’. Even worse, these cuts come at a time of further austerity where it is usually common for crime rates to rise.”

“We also question Labour’s double standards as they put up candidates therefore backing the huge cost (£75 million) which was spent on the Police Commissioner Elections. We believe this could have been better spent on priortising and protecting jobs on the frontline.”

“Our police force and communities clearly deserve better. Plaid will continue to call for the devolution of Policing and the criminal justice system to Wales. As a result decisions would then be taken here in the interests and safety of our communities which must come first.”
