Hanson Cement’s Padeswood works near Mold has chosen Action for Children as its first ever charity of the year for 2019.
The leading supplier of heavy building materials to the construction industry including aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, cement and cement related materials celebrates its 70th birthday this year and will raise funds for the leading children’s charity through a variety of events and activities throughout the year.
Hanson Cement’s Padeswood works manager Murat Burakcin said: ‘Both the company and our workforce support a number of charities throughout the year. We have admired the work done by Action for Children so have chosen them as our charity for the year. The site has an open day on June 29 and one of our employees is planning a charity bike ride to also raise funds.’
Nikki Booth, Action for Children’s North Wales community fundraiser, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Hanson Cement’s first charity of the year especially as they are celebrating their 70th birthday this year. To have such a prestigious company backing the critical work we do is a huge compliment. I look forward to working closely with Hanson to raise opportunities, money and awareness for our key services for children and young people across North Wales.’
