Volunteer Drive!

The Communities First Llanelli Debt and Benefit (DAB) Project are currently looking to recruit new volunteers and as part of the recruitment campaign we have organised the following opportunities for people to come and talk to project staff about volunteering and training. 

The project is primarily looking for volunteers from within the Communities First Wards of Felinfoel, Llwynhendy, Tyisha, Glanymor and Bigyn4 which are based in Llanelli.  There are a variety of different ways in which someone could volunteer with the DAB project and if volunteering with us is not what an individual decides they want to do then we will support them in accessing other volunteering opportunities via organisations such as CAVS based on John’s Street Llanelli.

Event / Training Dates

• Volunteer Recruitment – DAB Project Stand; Elli Centre. 7th January 2011 (9.30am – 3pm)
• Free C.V. Writing Course – Inkerman Street; 1pm – 4pm. 19th January 2011 (Delivered by a trained volunteer and open to all, but places must be booked)
• Volunteer Recruitment  – DAB Project Stand; Elli Centre. 3rd February 2011 (9.30am – 3pm)
• Introduction to Debt (Trainers: NPT Welfare Benefits Dept) – 9th February 2011; Inkerman Street, Llanelli 
• Introduction to Disability Living Allowance / Attendance Allowance Training (Trainers: NPT Welfare Benefits Dept) – 23rd February 2011; Inkerman Street, Llanelli
• Introduction to Welfare Benefits (Trainers: NPT Welfare Benefits Dept)  – 2nd March 2011; Inkerman Street, Llanelli 
• Volunteer Recruitment Event  3rd March 2011; location is still to be confirmed

 

Training opportunities are open to people who are interested in volunteering for the “DAB Project”; the training will help them in everyday life as well as help them, to help us, help others who might be finding it difficult to find their feet in the New Year.  These are difficult times for many people and as a project we are looking for volunteers to help us offer information and support to people who need it; if you know of anyone who might be interested in finding out about or who could benefit from volunteering on our project please call Bryony or Chris on 01554 777850.
