The Environment Agency Wales has issued a flood alert for the Carmarthenshire coast between Pendine and Hendy, east of Llanelli.

High spring tides are predicted over the weekend into next week between Friday 31st January and Tuesday the 4th February. Winds are forecast to be force 5 to 6 from a south westerly direction on Friday and overnight into Saturday, before increasing to force 9 throughout Saturday morning and afternoon.

Carmarthenshire County Council have tweeted that ‘Sandbags have been delivered to Llangennech, Llansteffan, Laugharne, Llanddowror and Pendine in case of severe weather conditions.’
