A new charity has been set up to support and promote conservation, communities and culture in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The launch coincides with Discover National Parks Fortnight, a two-week celebration of the UK’s premier protected landscapes.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust aims to protect the National Park for future generations by improving how the land is managed for wildlife, working to meet the challenges of climate change, highlighting the area’s history and culture and ensuring the Park is accessible to all.
Broadcaster Jamie Owen, who is Patron of the new charity said: “I feel privileged to have been able to explore every corner of the National Park’s landscape over the years, from childhood walks on the beaches of South Pembrokeshire, to walking in the rugged hills of the north and travelling to the offshore islands.
“It’s easy to forget about the work that goes into looking after these special places, which is why I’m happy to support this new charity, that will fund essential projects that will give more people opportunities to experience the places and adventures I’ve been lucky enough to encounter.
“By donating you too can help keep the Pembrokeshire Coast special. This is our National Park – let’s protect it together.”
You can donate £3 now by texting PEMBSCOAST to 70085. This text will cost you £3 plus a standard network rate message.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and its registered charity number is 1179281.

Mae’r lansiad yn cyd-daro â Phythefnos Darganfod Parciau Cenedlaethol, sef dathliad dros bythefnos o brif dirweddau gwarchodedig y DU.
Nod Ymddiriedolaeth Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro yw diogelu’r Parc Cenedlaethol i genedlaethau’r dyfodol drwy wella’r ffordd mae’r tir yn cael ei reoli ar gyfer bywyd gwyllt, gweithio i ymateb i heriau newid yn yr hinsawdd, tynnu sylw at hanes a diwylliant yr ardal, a sicrhau bod y Parc yn hwylus i bawb.
Dywedodd y darlledwr Jamie Owen, un o noddwyr yr elusen newydd: “Mae hi wedi bod yn fraint cael crwydro i bob cornel o’r Parc Cenedlaethol dros y blynyddoedd, wrth gerdded ar hyd traethau de Sir Benfro yn blentyn, dringo’r bryniau serth yng ngogledd y sir, a theithio i’r ynysoedd oddi ar ei harfordir.
“Mae’n hawdd anghofio am y gwaith sy’n cael ei wneud i ofalu am y llefydd arbennig yma. Dyna pam mae hi’n bleser cefnogi’r elusen newydd yma, a fydd yn ariannu prosiectau hollbwysig i roi cyfle i fwy o bobl fwynhau’r llefydd a’r anturiaethau rydw i wedi bod yn ddigon ffodus i gael profiad ohonyn nhw.
“Wrth roi arian, gallwch chithau hefyd helpu i sicrhau bod Arfordir Sir Benfro yn parhau i fod yn arbennig. Ein Parc Cenedlaethol ni yw hwn – beth am weithio gyda’n gilydd i’w ddiogelu.”
