Your Llanelli News started as an idea by Keith Evans from the Llanelli Town TV department and Josh Thomas who is the website editor. Together they scripted all the top news from LlanelliTown.com / Your Llanelli and shot an episode of the programme.
It started off with a white sheet pinned behind josh, who read the news from a piece of paper at a white table, and eventually got bigger and better when the use of green screen got involved. Mighty Media Productions & Epiphany Creative Solutions got involved and sponsored the season, allowing the programme to grow as Hywel Bowen-Thomas joined the team and presented the weather segments and also conducted interviews with the public. Shannon Thomas also joined the tam and helped in the camera department.
It was later realised that anchor Josh Thomas could be the first openly gay news anchor in Wales. We researched into this and couldn’t find any openly gay welsh anchors. To our knowledge we have set the record for this.
Series 2 is currently being developed wit promises of a brand new opening titles, new virtual studio and more top stories.
