Lloyd and Barnes Insurance Ltd, Account Executive, Job description:

This position is field based and will be a minimum of 20 hours per week.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • To work in the field calling on businesses and individuals to sell general insurance products to both consumers and commercial customers in an appropriate manner
  • To establish customer needs and requirements and provide advice on the suitability of the products being offered
  • To explain the covers available clearly so that customers can make an informed decision
  • To answer all calls and enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To support the firm’s goals and customer centric philosophy through excellent customer service skills
  • To ensure all activities meet the processes and standards laid down by Lloyd & Barnes

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to a reasonable standard
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet.
  • Preferably experience of providing specialised sales or customer service advice
  • Ideally experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Thorough understanding of face to face customer contacts.
  • Willing to undertake residential and field-based relevant customer service and insurance training.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to plan and organise own work schedules, taking into account customer availability.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyse information from the customer.
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual customer’s level of understanding.
  • Ability to identify and match the products available with customer requirements.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To identify potential sales by visiting potential customers in the areas designated over an agreed period of time.
  • To analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research to make suitable recommendations.
  • To complete all supporting documentation in a timely, compliant and accurate manner.
  • To support the departmental Key Performance Indicators and sales targets as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • To comply at all times with the requirements of the firm’s own procedures and the requirements of the FCA
  • To be aware of, and to follow at all times, the firm’s policy on Treating Customers Fairly.
  • To be aware of, and to follow at all times, the firm’s standards of ethical behaviour.
  • To maintain customer records accurately and securely in accordance with the firm’s own record keeping requirements and following data protection rules.
  • To maintain professional competence by complying at all times with the Training and Competence procedures of the firm.
  • To undertake all other duties as reasonably required and directed.

SPECIFIC KEY TASKS & TARGETS

  • Four new customers per week, aggregate 16 PCM
  • Face to face contact with 20 potential clients per day
  • Communicate and report activities daily in line with requirements
  • All sales to be completed in accordance with Lloyd & Barnes compliance processes
  • All documentation to be completed on time and in accordance with Lloyd & Barnes compliance processes
  • Bank all cheques with one working day (24 hours other than weekends & bank holidays)
  • Others to be specified as appropriate, in advance for each Performance Review Period
