THE over 50’s will be at the heart of a free community event.
Carmarthenshire’s Communities First team are encouraging anyone who is over 50 to attend a free event which will promote overall health and wellbeing.
A day of activity is being held on Friday, March 14 including healthy eating demonstrations; BMI checks; relaxation therapies and fitness taster sessions in zumba, yoga and self defence.
Former Welsh international rugby player Derek Quinnell will be attending the event which takes place at Parc y Scarlets from 11am to 6pm and a light lunch buffet will be available between 1- 2 pm. Free transport will be provided throughout Llanelli, Ammanford and Trimsaran.
Communities First Integrated Health Worker Lynsey Jones said:”We hope that this event will give people the tools and information to help them to make positive lifestyle changes.”
The programme’s aim to make a positive contribution towards improving health and wellbeing for people aged over 50 by providing quality information and advice.
Carmarthenshire’s 50+ Champion Cllr Tegwen Devichand said:“This health and wellbeing day is a great opportunity to bring people together and promote the benefits of improving their standard of living.”
