Tyisha & Dock Mixed OAP Branch
Meet every Wednesday afternoon at St Barnabas Hall, Llewellyn Street, where members socialize, enjoy refreshments, catch up on the news and play bingo. Frequently, members are entertained by jokes, quizzes and picture shows. Glanymor & Tyisha Youth Night
Glanymor & Tyisha Communities First have started a new monthly Youth Night for young people age 10+. This new informal outdoor meeting gives young people in Glanymor & Tyisha the chance to meet their local Community First Development Worker and have a voice in their community by getting involved in community projects and events. Youth Night takes place the 1st Tues of every month at different venues – Seaside Crown Park, Bwlch Field Morfa, Penymorfa, Anne St Field, Bigyn and 5 Ty’s Station Rd.
Glanymor & Tyisha Youth Action Group
The more formal monthly youth action group meeting takes place on 1st Weds of every month and are open for parents/ youth/ groups/ organisations/ schools to attend to help work together for local youth. We will feedback on the previous day’s youth night, plan and work for the future to try and help our youth have a voice in their community.
We hope to achieve 1 representative from all groups/organisations/schools we support in area to attend the youth action group meeting if possible. For more information, please contact Faye Davies on 01554 777850
Morfa Fathers Group Open Afternoon
Come and meet other Fathers in your area for a cuppa before picking your children up from school. All Father/Father Figures welcome including Grandfathers and any Male Carers caring for a young child from all areas of Glanymor & Tyisha. Boxercise Classes on Wednesdays in Bigyn Primary School.
Wednesdays 5-5:45pm (children aged 7-12 years). £3 per session. After the first session term fees will need to be paid in advance.
Wednesdays 6-7pm (adults 13+ years) £3.90 per session.

Morfa Family Centre hold a baby & toddler fitness class every Friday morning (term time) from 10.30 until 12pm. We hold these sessions in The Wesleyan Hall, Morfa. There is a charge of £1 per child and refreshments for child and adult are free. Come along and let your little one have fun and let off steam and you can even join in too.
Me a Volunteer? -Â On your bike!
Glanymor and Tyisha Communities First has bikes available for residents to use free of charge but need volunteers to help run the scheme. We are looking for someone who has free time to meet people who want to hire the bikes. All you will need to do is meet them in Bwlch Youth & Community Centre to pass on the bikes and ensure they complete the booking form. For this you will be able to claim travel costs for any expenses incurred AND OFFERED FREE TRAINING AND THE CHANCE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE! To find out more please contact Amy on 01554 777850

Glanymor Neighbourhood Watch meets on the first Monday of the month at the Cambrian, Marine Street at 6.30pm except for Bank Holidays, when they meet on the second Monday of the month. The next meetings of The Sports Health and Wellbeing Action Group will be taking place on the 9th February 2011 and the 9th March 2011. The meetings will be held at the Glanymor and Tyisha offices at 2pm. Training opportunities are open to people who are interested in volunteering for the “DAB Project”; the training will help you in your everyday life as well as help you, to help us, help others who might be finding it difficult to find their feet in the New Year. These are difficult times for many people and as a project we are looking for volunteers to help us offer information and support to people who need it; if you are interested in finding out what you might be able to do as a volunteer on our project call Bryony or Chris on 01554 777850.
