“Police are appealing for information following the theft of a plastic ring shaped lifebuoy from near to the Pont Lesneven Bridge in Carmarthen. The theft occurred sometime between Monday 3rd March and Monday 10th March.
PC Gareth Thomas said
“Apart from the theft there is also the issue of risk to human life should an emergency occur and lifesaving equipment items not being available. It is a criminal offence to move or damage lifesaving aids. I would appeal to the public using the river paths to be vigilant and report anything suspicious.”
“If anyone has seen items such as this lying about or for sale and they think this is unusual please could they notify police?”
“Anyone with information that could help the investigation is also asked to contact police on 101.”
