The Llwynhendy and Pemberton Forum are due to launch a new food bank situated at the Bryn and Trallwm Club.  It’s taken months of planning and evolved from a Surplus Food Project run by the Forum.
Whilst running the Surplus Food Project the group became aware of the increasing need of a food bank within the local community. People from outside of town and living on the bread line simply can not afford the rising transport costs to access food at the existing food banks.
An outreach food bank will help with the transport costs and help relieve pressure from the already very busy food banks within the town. The Forum will be working with the Children’s Centre in Llwynhendy and the Bryn and Trallwm Club. Both these venues will be made available to collect food parcels from.
The Forum are very grateful to Mr George Parker from Parker Plant Hire in Llanelli for providing a storage container to store the food. Mr Parker has very generously provided the container free of charge.
They would also like to extend they’re thanks to the Bryn and Trallwm Club for kindly letting them house the food bank at the Club. The food bank wouldn’t have been made possible without the help and support of both these local businesses.
