CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council has helped a Welsh publishing company to move to Llanelli.
Graffeg has moved to a new home in Llangennech. Having secured office accommodation late last year in Stradey Park Business Centre, the business has now fully relocated from Cardiff Bay to the West Wales site, heralding a new start for the 10-year-old company.
Joining Managing Director Peter Gill and Publishing Director Matthew Howard are three new staff members, each recruited locally. Anna Jones of Kidwelly now looks after marketing, Sophie Lewis of Llanelli is the Sales Support Assistant and they will shortly be joined by Micha Thomas of Burry Port who will act as Design Assistant. Nicola Robson completes the team, bringing years of publishing experience with Hodder Education with her.
Matthew Howard, who lives in Llanelli, said: “These really are exciting times for Graffeg. This move west will allow us to develop fully as a publisher, and the new young team are keen to get started.”
Graffeg specialise in books about Welsh lifestyle, food, photography, and landscape. They work with award-winning authors and photographers and also publish an ever increasing range of notecards, calendars and prints. In addition, they offer a bespoke publishing service for individuals, organisations and companies alike.
Council Business Development Officer Jamie Reynolds said: “We helped Graffeg find their new base and provided them with help and assistance in coming to Carmarthenshire.”
Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “I’m delighted that companies want to move to Carmarthenshire. The team we have in regeneration is very supportive to the private sector and our message is that Carmarthenshire is open for business.”
